Physician Assistant - Clinic Based

Vanguard Plastic Surgery is seeking an experienced and patient-focused Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our clinical team in Fort Lauderdale. This position is primarily focused on in-office patient care, aesthetic services, surgical consultations, and pre- and postoperative management , with occasional opportunities to assist in the operating room or emergency situations as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent patient-care skills, and experience working in a plastic surgery or aesthetic setting. Hands-on experience with dermal fillers along with a strong understanding of facial anatomy, injection techniques, and patient safety is desirable.

This is an excellent opportunity for a PA who enjoys building relationships with patients, providing comprehensive clinical care, and working closely with plastic surgeons in a collaborative practice.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive in-office patient evaluations, consultations, and follow-up visits.

• Perform preoperative and postoperative assessments and provide appropriate patient education and follow-up care.

• Evaluate patients and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician.

• Perform aesthetic treatments, including dermal filler injections , based on patient needs and treatment plans.

• Demonstrate knowledge of facial anatomy, injection techniques, product selection, and appropriate management of potential complications.

• Assist with minor in-office procedures and clinical treatments as directed by the supervising physician.

• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes in condition or treatment needs to the physician and clinical team.

• Provide patients with clear instructions regarding procedures, recovery, medications, and postoperative care.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient histories, assessments, treatment plans, procedures, and follow-up care.

• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and other members of the clinical team.

• Assist with surgical procedures in the operating room on an occasional/as-needed basis .

• Provide clinical support in the event of an urgent or emergency patient situation.

• Stay current on advancements in plastic surgery, aesthetics, injectables, and evidence-based patient care.

• Maintain a professional, compassionate, and patient-centered approach at all times.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed and certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) eligible to practice in the State of Florida.

• Bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.

• Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant.

• Previous hands-on experience administering dermal fillers is desired but not required

• Strong preference for experience in plastic surgery, cosmetic/aesthetic medicine, dermatology, or a related specialty.

• Strong knowledge of facial anatomy and safe injection practices.

• Experience with patient consultations, treatment planning, and follow-up care.

• Surgical experience is preferred but not required as the primary focus of the position.

• ER or acute-care experience is a plus, particularly for the ability to respond appropriately to urgent patient needs.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail.

• Ability to establish trust and rapport with patients.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and the clinical team.

Work Environment

• This position is primarily based in the office and focused on clinical patient care , including consultations, evaluations, aesthetic treatments, and pre- and postoperative management.

• The PA may occasionally assist in the operating room or with urgent matters/emergencies as needed. Some flexibility may be required based on the surgical and clinical schedule.
