Lead Optical Engineer

Location Northville, USA Lead Optical Engineer FORVIA - HELLA Electronics Corporation is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Optical Engineer. The focus of this role will be to lead optical design activities and act as the primary optical engineering contact through all development phases (Styling, RFQ, Design, production) with our OEM customers. This is a unique opportunity to use and develop a broad array of engineering and customer interfacing skills. Daily Responsibilities Work as the optical engineering contact to our OEM customers including the analysis and distribution of requirements. Estimate required lighting development resources and costs while creating development schedules. Design and develop optical lighting components. Manage coordination of optical design strategies in conjunction with the lighting labs. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a related engineering discipline. 5+ years experience focused on automotive optical design activities (Two complete program development cycles RFQ to SOP Preferred). Exhibited ability to lead program development. Experience leading a program from RFQ through production is a plus. Shown past leadership qualities in program development.
