The Strength and Conditioning Coach will assist in the planning, organization, coordination and supervision of strength and conditioning programming for all varsity and club sport student‑athletes. Provide proper instruction and supervision of strength and conditioning activities. Design and implement strength and conditioning plans for varsity and club sport athletes. Assist in the oversight and management of the daily operations, activities and programs with the Harold Alfond Forum strength and conditioning facility, including maintenance and safety inspections of equipment. Hire, train, develop, and supervise Harold Alfond Forum Strength and Conditioning facility employees including; student employees certified student fitness specialists, interns and other certified coaches. Demonstrate an adherence to, and understanding of, NCAA rules and University policies. Develop professional relationships and effective communication with Athletics Department administration, coaches and other professional staff members. Collaborate with the Director of Strength and Conditioning and head coaches to develop properly periodized performance enhancement and injury‑prevention based programming using scientific principles and researched‑based techniques. Attain and maintain credentials and memberships in required nationally‑recognized strength and conditioning organizations. Teach and advise student‑athletes on the various aspects of training and recovery, including, but not limited to: strength, speed, agility, flexibility, mobility, proper rest, testing, assessment and nutrition. Ensure a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment in the strength and conditioning facility. Serve on various department and University committees, when requested. Perform other related job duties as assigned. Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or other related field is required (master’s degree preferred) with a minimum of 2-3 years of previous collegiate strength coaching experience preferred, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired. NSCA CSCS certification is required, as is certification in CPR , First Aid and AED . Additional professional memberships and certifications may be required.
