Manager in Training

Overview The Assistant Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the Slim Chickens restaurant in Fayetteville, AR, to ensure outstanding guest service. In the absence of the General Manager, the Assistant Manager serves as the highest-ranking member of the management team in the restaurant and oversees financial results, operations, staff development, customer service, and compliance with company policies and standards. Essential Position Responsibilities Operations: Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations to meet company standards for quality food, service, and sanitation. Manage and supervise Shift Leaders and hourly staff. Assign and direct daily work responsibilities. Order inventory to ensure appropriate stock levels. Reconcile cash registers at opening and close of each shift. Maintain records as required by company policies and applicable laws. Ensure staff compliance with company policies, procedures, standards, and safety and food handling laws. Management: Recruit, interview, select, and hire staff; conduct orientation and training for Shift Leaders and hourly staff; perform performance reviews; provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and counseling; manage disciplinary actions as needed; recommend promotions or other status changes; adjust work schedules to ensure full shift coverage; approve overtime as necessary. Leadership: Demonstrate professional attitude and appearance; communicate effectively with GM, Shift Leaders, staff, guests, vendors, and the community; conduct meetings; follow GM direction; delegate tasks; resolve employee questions or concerns. Work Conditions and Requirements Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours. Periods of standing and walking as required. Frequent contact with guests and staff, requiring tact, courtesy, and direction. Qualifications and Competencies High school diploma or GED; able to read, write, and communicate effectively. Proficient math and computer skills. Demonstrates maturity and professional demeanor; friendly, outgoing personality; well-groomed and professional appearance.
