Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 17 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in specialty License: RN License required Certifications: BLS + ACLS required (AHA only) Must-Have: ICU experience required Neurosurgery experience preferred Epic experience required Telemetry test required prior to start Description: Evening/Night shifts, 12-hour duration from 19:00 to 07:30. Every other weekend and some holidays are required. If a request for time off is scheduled during a weekend, may be scheduled contingent on the weekend. Must be willing to work with ICU and IMC patient populations. Traveler will be required to pass a telemetry test prior to being cleared to start. Care for adult patients with various neurology, neurosurgical, and stroke conditions, including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes. Utilize strong critical thinking skills and provide interventions that may include vasoactive drips and hemodynamic monitoring. Collaborate with a dynamic and supportive team committed to providing expert care. Work on a neuroscience critical care unit supporting both IMC and ICU levels of care. Patient diagnoses include stroke (ischemic and hemorrhagic), brain tumors, seizures, post-op neurosurgery care, and traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries. Special equipment includes external ventricular drains, lumbar drains, and CereLink monitors. Pass/fail testing is required with strict passing criteria. Telemetry exams must be passed within two attempts. Travelers will have two attempts to pass the telemetry exam before additional requirements are assigned. If unsuccessful after three attempts, the assignment will be canceled.
