Job Description

We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician I to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in sterile product filling, inspection, and packaging within cGMP environments and a proven ability to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain automated production and packaging equipment while ensuring documentation accuracy and compliance .

Role Details:

• Onsite schedule: Swing shift, Monday–Friday, 3:00 p.m.–1:30 a.m.
• Pay rate: $23.10/hr (includes shift differential). Max client bill rate: $32.08/hr.

Main Purpose of the Position:

Under the direction of the Process Unit Lead or Lead Technician, perform tasks to fill, inspect, and package sterile pharmaceutical products in an automated production and packaging facility. Troubleshoot, maintain, and assemble production equipment. Assist Engineers and Maintenance Mechanics with overhauls, repairs, and installations. Execute work in compliance with cGMPs, SOPs, product recipes, and Genentech standards.

Responsibilities:

• Follow all plant safety policies and procedures and proactively identify unsafe conditions.
• Clean, set up, change over, and run equipment for inspection and packaging of vials, pre-filled syringes, and devices.
• Support Engineers, Maintenance Mechanics, and vendors in repair, maintenance, calibration, and execute user-performed and routine maintenance on GNE systems.
• Train Technicians and contribute to the development and improvement of SOPs and training materials.
• Execute production recipes, check in equipment, and perform material movements in SAP and MES.
• Complete required documentation to ensure accountability and traceability of components and finished product.
• Identify, report, and document process deviations or atypical events per SOPs.
• Work with automation systems, including SAP, MES, Pi ProcessBook, PLCs, and HMIs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical failures in production.
• Perform manual and semi-automated inspection of filled product vials with focus on quality and efficiency.
• Conduct environmental monitoring and routine cleaning to maintain required area grades.
• Provide shift handoff reports and recommendations on equipment, supplies, repairs, process and safety concerns, and opportunities to improve reliability, yield, and efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficiency in English for reading, writing, and communication.
• Able to work all required shifts, including days and swings, and overtime as needed.
• Able to lift 45 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to pass medical evaluations for gowning to controlled areas, visual inspection qualification, color discrimination, and GMP testing, with annual re-qualification as required.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, web navigation, email, and basic typing skills. Ability to interface with computer systems and PLC-based logic.
• Experience with cGMP documentation and Good Documentation Practices.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent and two years of manufacturing experience in related industries such as Aerospace, Automotive, Food and Beverage, or Semiconductor.
• OR an associate degree in Bioscience Technology, Microelectronics Technology, or a similar field.

Experience:

• 2 to 5 years within the last 7 years operating equipment used for inspection and packaging of products or containers is highly desirable.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with SAP, MES, Pi ProcessBook, PLCs, HMIs, and automated packaging systems.
• Background with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma, including 5S and Kaizen initiatives.
