Responsibilities Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Conduct minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment such as electrical, brake, cooling, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions, clutches, and differentials. Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling, air conditioning, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials. Inspect, test, and listen for defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using handheld computers and pressure gauges. Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation. Independently manage parts inventory and reconcile company‑issued service truck supplies. Maintain and operate service vehicle, conducting safety checks and pre‑/post‑trip inspections. Communicate with clients and customers to assess needs, provide information, resolve problems, and meet expectations. Manage concurrent tasks, prioritize activities, and allocate time effectively. Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lift and jacks. Document work on Repair Orders using iOS devices and the TRAIT application, uploading pictures and parts used. Accurately complete DOT forms and all required documentation promptly. Work independently, managing daily schedule and maintaining high productivity within standard repair times. Obtain parts from approved vendors as required. Communicate with management for repair estimates, purchase order numbers, and Repair Order findings. Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT). Support Mobile Diesel Technicians I/II/Sr with inventory reconciliation and quality control inspections. Mentor technicians and assist the Mobile Tech Manager when absent. Requirements High school diploma or GED with 7 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of higher education or certification and 5–9 years of experience in a related field. Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform duties. Obtain ASE T8 (PMI), ASE C1 (Service Consultant), and 608/609 certification within 18 months. Pass DOT‑regulated background screening and DOT physical or present a valid DOT medical card with more than 4 months remaining. Be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license with the ability to maintain a Driver Qualification File. Compensation Hourly pay rate is $39.13 – $58.75 per hour, varying by location and candidate qualifications. Position may be eligible for commission and/or incentive programs.
