Application Engineer - HW Quality

Job Title

Pay Range: $55hr - $58hr

Requirement/Must Have

• 5+ years of experience in hardware engineering, failure analysis, or related roles.
• Strong knowledge of DPUs, AI NICs, PCIe, and high-speed networking technologies.
• Experience with Linux-based diagnostics and debugging environments.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
• Experience developing custom debug and validation tools.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Hardware, Design, Manufacturing, and Operations teams.
• Strong focus on leveraging AI tools for debugging, workflow automation, and engineering efficiency improvements.

Experience

• Experience managing failure cases and RMA workflows.
• Experience conducting structured root cause analysis (RCA) and preparing FA and 8D reports.
• Experience analyzing recurring hardware failure trends and driving corrective actions.
• Experience supporting hardware debugging in Linux-based environments.
• Experience with validation workflows, diagnostics, and automation development.

Responsibilities

• Manage and track hardware failure cases and RMA workflows in Salesforce.
• Develop and maintain automation tools to streamline validation workflows and reporting.
• Support Salesforce UAT activities as required.
• Perform failure analysis on returned client Pensando DPU and AI NIC hardware.
• Conduct structured root cause analysis and create FA and 8D reports with corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain diagnostic scripts, validation procedures, and custom debug tools using Python, Bash, or equivalent technologies.
• Identify recurring failure trends through data analysis and collaborate with internal teams to implement corrective actions.
• Support Linux-based hardware debugging, including mechanical assembly and cable routing reviews.
• Maintain accurate documentation of validation activities, debugging processes, and analysis findings.

Should Have

• Experience with Salesforce for workflow tracking and case management.
• Background in manufacturing quality, reliability engineering, or RMA processes.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to work in fast-paced cross-functional environments.

Qualification and Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related field preferred.
