Digital Media Manager - Newsroom

The Digital Media Manager leads all digital content strategy and execution for the newsroom, ensuring KNWA/FOX24 delivers timely, accurate, and engaging content across web, mobile, social, and OTT platforms. This role manages the digital team, sets daily priorities, drives audience growth, and ensures digital is fully integrated into the newsroom’s editorial workflow. The Digital Media Manager is responsible for elevating digital storytelling, increasing vertical video output, improving SEO performance, and strengthening the station’s digital brand presence in Northwest Arkansas.Daily Content LeadershipOversee all digital publishing across website, mobile app, social media, and OTT platforms.Lead daily digital editorial meetings (10am, 2pm, 4pm) to set priorities and update coverage plans.Coordinate with the News Director and Assignment Manager to ensure digital-first coverage of breaking news.Ensure all stories have both a broadcast and digital plan before reporters leave the newsroom.Team ManagementSupervise digital producers, social/vertical video producers, and OTT content creators.Provide coaching, feedback, and development to strengthen writing, SEO, and digital storytelling skills.Manage schedules to ensure strong coverage during peak digital hours.Content Strategy & GrowthDevelop and execute strategies to grow pageviews, video views, app usage, and CTV consumption.Increase vertical video output for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts.Oversee homepage curation, ensuring top stories are updated frequently and optimized for engagement.Drive OTT content creation and playlist management.Analytics & PerformanceMonitor real-time analytics and adjust coverage accordingly.Produce weekly and monthly digital performance reports for newsroom leadership.Identify trends, high-performing content, and opportunities for improvement.Quality & StandardsEnsure all digital content meets station standards for accuracy, fairness, and brand voice.Maintain strong SEO practices, headline writing, and metadata usage.Uphold Nexstar digital policies, legal guidelines, and ethical standards.CollaborationWork closely with reporters, photographers, producers, and anchors to strengthen digital integration.Partner with promotions and sales on digital initiatives when appropriate.Coordinate with corporate digital teams on best practices, tools, and platform updates.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, digital media, or related field.3+ years of experience in a newsroom or digital content environment.Strong leadership and communication skills.Expertise in digital publishing, SEO, social media strategy, and analytics tools.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Experience with vertical video creation and OTT platforms preferred.Familiarity with Northwest Arkansas news landscape is a plus.Core CompetenciesDigital-first mindsetStrong editorial judgmentTeam leadership and coachingSEO and analytics fluencySocial media strategyBreaking news urgencyCreative storytellingCollaboration across departmentsSummaryLocation: AR, FayettevilleType: Full time
