Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: IMC Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty. License: State RN license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS required. Must-Have: Telemetry experience required. Vent and transplant experience preferred. Description: Evening/Night shift, 12 hours, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM. Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required. The traveler will work in an IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care unit and an IMC Thoracic unit. Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience is required. The traveler will be required to pass a telemetry test prior to starting. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics, with a daily census of approximately 7. The unit provides care for patients with lung and esophageal diseases, lobectomies, and other thoracic procedures. Responsibilities include assisting with procedures such as chest tube insertion. The role requires strong teamwork and critical thinking skills, along with the ability to apply evidence-based nursing practices. Successful candidates will have experience in ICU or IMC and surgical post-op care. Travelers must be willing to float as needed and integrate into the unit's culture. Candidates must meet strict passing criteria for telemetry exams. The position involves caring for patients post-esophagectomy, lung volume reduction surgery, cardiac surgery stepdown, and hospitalist patients. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Special equipment experience is necessary. The ideal candidate should bring innovation and a compassionate approach to patient care. Familiarity with managing various medical devices and protocols is essential.
