LYNNWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRINCIPAL Location: Lynnwood Elementary School Salary: $110,000-$140,000 based on experience and in accordance with the Guilderland Principal's Association (GPA) Contract The Guilderland Central School District is currently looking for candidates who possess: Diverse backgrounds, educational interests and experiences A positive attitude and passion for education Coachable mindset The ability to work effectively in a shared decision making environment Commitment to the social emotional well-being and academic growth of children A strong understanding of K-5 learning standards to effectively lead and support high quality instruction. The ability to lead others and support the team dynamic at both the school and district level Experience with academic, behavioral and social emotional needs of students and knowledge of collaborative Multi-Tiered System of support (MTSS) The skill to effectively communicate with school and community stakeholders A sense of humor, sound judgment and a creative vision NYS School Building Leader certification 5 or more years as a professional educator with successful experience as a teacher and administrator, preferably at the elementary level Responsibilities: The Principal is the instructional leader of the building and is responsible for the overall operation and success of Lynnwood Elementary School. The Principal engages in these five key practices: shaping the vision of academic success for all students; creating a climate that is hospitable to education; cultivating leadership in others; improving instruction; and managing people, data and processes to foster school improvement. Specific areas of responsibility include curriculum and instruction, staff supervision, personnel administration, student discipline, parent relations, community relations, school climate, and development and administration of the school’s budget. The Principal reports directly to the Superintendent of Schools. Community: Guilderland is a residential community covering 66 square miles adjacent to Albany and near Schenectady. Many of its 35,000 residents are attracted to the community because of its excellent school system and its proximity to major area employers such as The State University of New York at Albany, Albany Medical Center and New York State Government. School District: The Guilderland Central School District has five elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. The district serves approximately 4,900 students and enjoys a strong reputation for academic excellence and commitment to meeting the needs of the whole child. Lynnwood: Lynnwood Elementary School is home to approximately 420 students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
