Position Overview The Department of Psychiatry is excited to re-open a state-of-the-art 36-bed inpatient psychiatry unit, including four high-acuity med-psych beds. This role offers a unique opportunity to practice at the intersection of psychiatric and medical care, supporting a complex and rewarding patient population. Physician Assistants provide 24/7 coverage and partner closely with psychiatrists and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners to deliver comprehensive, integrated care. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the interdisciplinary psychiatry team to manage inpatient care Conduct daily patient rounds and provide ongoing clinical assessment Manage all aspects of patient care, including: Documentation and order entry Coordination of consults Discharge planning Respond to acute psychiatric and medical needs on the unit Support safe, high-quality care for medically complex psychiatric patients Preferred Qualifications 1–2+ years of experience in hospital medicine and/or psychiatric care Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies Current New York State PA license NCCPA certification ACLS and BLS certification NYS Infection Control certification DEA registration with NYS Opioid Prescriber training compliance Why Join Us?
