Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/14/2026 Duration: 16 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Georgia Start Date: September 14, 2026 Location: Georgia Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 12-hour shifts with every other weekend required; 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio on a 36-bed unit with average daily census of 30 patients Highlights: Neuro/Stroke PCU floor with mixed medical, respiratory, and cardiac patient populations Experience with continuous telemetry monitoring and titrating cardiac drips required Epic EMR, Pyxis medication system, and SBAR communication protocols Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams First-time travelers accepted with minimum 1 year of experience Maximum 7 days requested time off available (blackout dates: Spring Break April 4-12) Requirements: Active Georgia or Compact RN license required at time of submission Minimum 1 year of nursing experience Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required Proficiency in managing PCU-level patients including cardiac drip titration with continuous telemetry monitoring Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care, and non-invasive airway management Willingness to float within facility and scope of practice as needed Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only) Full compliance documentation required prior to start date Why It's a Great Opportunity: This Progressive Care Unit position offers an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse patient population ranging from adolescents to geriatrics in a dynamic neuro/stroke specialty environment. If three major holidays occur during your assignment, you will work two of them. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day.
