Substance Use Disorder Clinical Therapist II - Corrections

Job Overview Position: Clinical Program Therapist 2 in Substance Use Disorder at the Corrections Department. Workplace: Minnesota Correctional Facility – Stillwater. Work Hours & Location Location: Stillwater Work shift: Day Shift, Monday – Friday Telework Eligible: No Full/Part Time: Full‑Time Salary Range: $28.26 – $41.43 hourly; $59,006 – $86,505 annually Responsibilities Provide specialized professional therapeutic programming to offenders in an alcohol and other drug treatment program. Design and implement individualized treatment plans. Conduct security, assessment/evaluation, psycho‑educational programming, monitoring and reporting. Teach and train both individual and group sessions; deliver psycho‑educational courses. Maintain professional standards; adhere to legal and ethical guidelines. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team; exercise sound judgment. Minimum Qualifications Licensure: Current licensure or eligibility for licensure* by the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) or equivalent. Experience: One year of behavioral health services for clients with substance use disorders (and/or co‑occurring disorders) OR master's degree in relevant field (Alcohol/Drug Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, or related behavioral health/science program). Knowledge of: substance use treatment methods and practices; professional, legal, and ethical standards; community standards of care; best practices. Skills: Verbal & written communication; documentation; interpersonal/human relations; basic PC skills. Ability to: formulate and implement individualized treatment plans and continuing care plans; teach psycho‑educational courses; function within a multi‑disciplinary team; exercise sound judgment and maintain professional boundaries. Preferred Qualifications Current Minnesota LADC licensure at time of hire. Advanced degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related Behavioral Science or Social Science. Experience working in a correctional/secure setting. Physical Requirements Candidate must review and sign a Physical Demands Analysis (PDA). Position requires Tuberculosis screening prior to hiring. Additional Requirements Screening will include criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations, background checks, and reference checks (including incidents of sexual harassment).
