Engine Fitter/ Welder

Duties include (but are not limited to):

1 Measures Should lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, callipers, and ruler.

2 Welding Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment. Cuts workpiece, using powered saws, hand shears, or chipping knife. Melts lead bar, wire, or scrap to add lead to joint or to extrude melted scrap into reusable form.

3 Repair’s Installs or repairs equipment, such as lead pipes, valves, floors, and tank linings, Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometre, calliper, and precision measuring instruments

4 Ele. Tools Removes rough spots from workpiece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper.

5 Welding Position Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions, Heats, forms, and dresses metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment, Ignites torch and adjusts valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc

6 Welding Equipment’s Determines required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques

7 Experiences- needs to have also experience/skill to perform mechanic job when is required.

8 Maintain- must maintain a clean and organized work station with only items directly relevant to the job present.

9 Skill- should possess well developed problem solving skills.

10 Professional- -must be professional, dedicated, and detail-oriented.

11 Team Work-must have the ability to work well with others and be a team player

Candidates are expected to work on board an international cruise ship.
