Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations for patients from pediatric to geriatric demographics using established assessments and practical observation methods.
• Create tailored treatment plans that strike a balance between immediate goals and overarching communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
• Deliver individualized speech therapy focused on enhancing communication, language skills, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing abilities.
• Collaborate with a diverse team of professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and families, to formulate effective care strategies.
• Educate patients and their families to encourage progress outside clinical sessions.
• Occasionally carry out inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions to ensure a seamless treatment experience.
• Document patient progress in compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as organizational standards.
• Commit to ongoing professional development through continuing education and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not currently ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Preferred certification includes the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
