Distribution Center Manager, Frederick, 85-90, plus bonus

My client, a growing company is seeking a hands-on Distribution Center Manager to oversee all aspects of its warehouse operations, their new “Mother Hub” facility in Frederick, MD. As a working manager, you will serve as the primary focal point for day-to-day operations, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication. This critical role owns inbound and outbound product transfers, ensuring strict turnaround times for daily receiving and same-day shipping through carriers like UPS, FedEx, and LTL. You will manage comprehensive inventory activities utilizing modern warehouse management systems, executing cycle counts, lot tracking, and FEFO stock rotation. Additionally, you will oversee the facility—including HVAC and refrigeration systems—while ensuring absolute compliance with Good Distribution Practices (GDP) and Food Safety (FSQA) programs. A core focus will be leading your warehouse team that comprises of an Assistant Manager, Leads and 20 employees. You will foster a culture of workplace safety and accountability. The DC Manager will also be responsible for managing operational budgets, tracking performance metrics, and sourcing packaging solutions to drive cost efficiency.

The ideal candidate would have a Bachelor’s Degree or, at least 5 years of specialized warehouse/logistics leadership experience in the food industry or cold storage distribution and forklift proficiency within a high-volume environment. This individual should be outgoing, have a positive attitude, integrity and someone that can lead the team to help drive results.
