STEM PhD for AI Model Development

Apply your advanced technical knowledge to design domain-specific, difficult problems and produce high-quality data that will guide the development of state-of-the-art large language models for a premier AI lab. This remote, hourly role is focused on leveraging subject matter expertise to improve model capabilities in specialized technical areas.

• Develop challenging, domain-relevant problems and prompts that test and expand model understanding.
• Create and validate high-quality data examples and problem sets that will be used to train and evaluate large language models.
• Provide clear, well-written explanations, annotations, and feedback on example outputs as needed.
• Collaborate with the project team to ensure domain accuracy, clarity, and difficulty calibration of materials.

• PhD or advanced degree in one of the following, or equivalent industry experience: Medicine or Healthcare, Statistics and Data Science, AI or ML Research, Computer Science, Game Development, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• High attention to detail, especially when producing and reviewing technical content.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to explain complex concepts clearly.

• Screening includes a brief interview and an evaluation task that together require about 20 to 30 minutes.
• If hired, you will receive onboarding that includes short videos, and up to 1 hour of onboarding time will be compensated.

• Pay range: $55 to $90 per hour.
