Local 26' Straight Truck Route Driver (Class B, Non‑CDL)

Location: Wood Dale, IL

Reports to: Shipping and Receiving Manager

Schedule: Monday–Friday local routes; overtime available

A day in this role

You start your morning in Wood Dale, reviewing the day’s plant transfers and customer drop-offs. After a quick pre-trip inspection, you roll out in a 26' straight box truck. At each stop, you confirm paperwork, secure signatures, and use a scan gun to record material movement. Between runs, you may load or unload with a pallet jack or forklift, return picked-up items to the warehouse, and communicate delivery timing with customers and teammates. Before you wrap, you document any vehicle wear and flag unsafe conditions so maintenance can get ahead of issues.

What you’ll handle

• Operate a 26' straight truck to move material and finished goods safely between plants and customer sites
• Manually load/unload as needed using a pallet jack or forklift
• Verify loads are secured and correct for each building or customer
• Collect signatures and confirm delivery accuracy at every stop
• Return picked-up/returned items to the warehouse
• Inspect the vehicle, report wear, and immediately escalate unsafe conditions
• Use scan guns to accurately track material movement
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 3 years of Class B driving experience; Class B required (Non‑CDL per role scope)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Clear, professional communication with customers, supervisors, and coworkers
• Delivery and warehouse background preferred

Physical and work environment

• Sedentary position
• Ability to travel by various public and private transport methods
• 20/20 vision required with or without correction
• Use of hands 100% of the workday
• Ability to stand or walk 25% of the workday
• Frequent twisting, bending, and leaning during the workday
• Office environment with occasional exposure to loud noises, dust, solvents, coolants, and oils
