Surgical Technologist

Overview Location: Brookings, SD Job Type: PRN, Minimum commitment of 8 hours per month. Schedule: Primarily days with possible weekends, evenings, and holidays. Compensation: $21.96 to $32.51 per hour, depending on experience. Responsibilities Assist during surgical operations under a physician’s direction. Work as part of a surgical team to ensure that operative procedures are conducted under optimal conditions. Provide a safe environment for patients undergoing surgical or diagnostic procedures. Collaborate with physicians, surgical nursing staff, and ancillary departments to promote optimal patient outcomes. Qualifications and Requirements Graduate of a surgical technology program. Knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge and prior experience with anatomy, physiology, microbiology, surgical pharmacology, and principles of asepsis/sterile techniques. Familiarity with resuscitation protocols and understanding of the tech’s role during a Code Blue. Increased knowledge of anatomy. Specialty certification in surgical technology preferred (not required). Current certification in CPR/BLS required. #J-18808-Ljbffr Brookings Health System
