Assistant Residential Manager

Job Description Position Type/Expected Hours of Work – 40 hours, flexible to the needs of the residential program. Minimum of thirty (30) contact hours per week and twenty‑four (24) weekend hours per month, or, in certain instances, sixty (60) contact hours in a bi‑week. Qualifications – Associates Degree in Human Services or related field and one (1) year of experience working with the developmentally disabled, or High School Diploma/Equivalency with a minimum of two (2) years of experience working with the developmentally disabled and prior supervisory experience. Relevant Certifications – Must be medication certified or have the ability to be medication certified within ninety (90) days. Valid NYS driver’s license and ability to be van certified within ninety (90) days. Work Authorization/Security Clearance – Authorized to work in the United States. Summary/Objective Support the goals, objectives, and philosophy of the agency. Work with measurable signs of PRIDE to support the agency’s values. Essential Functions – Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Provide supervision and direction to Direct Support Professionals and complete duties as assigned by the Residential Manager. Assist in training and supervision of Direct Support Professionals to ensure staff are competent to provide habilitative services. Provide assistance, training and supervision for the people we support in self‑care, domestic skills, socialization and other designated areas. Ensure operation of the residence meets agency policy and procedure and all governing bodies required. Assist the Residential Manager with programmatic documentation; ensure it is completed and filed appropriately and expediently. Assist in implementing and following through on ADL, interpersonal skill training and behavior modification programs as directed by the Residential Manager. Assist in all documentation, fire drills, and matters concerning the people we support’s programs, site physical plant, household supplies, equipment repair, and personal needs. Participate in or conduct staff meetings, training and other discussions regarding the people we support in the absence of the Residential Manager. Other duties as assigned. Ethical Conduct Time Management Work Independently Operate various cleaning machines Communicate with Management Supervisory Responsibility – Direct Support Professionals. Travel – Travel is expected as needed to locations in Jefferson and St. Lawrence counties to ensure community activities for the people we support, attend outings, appointments and trainings. Work Environment – This job operates out of the homes of the people we support. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as standard household equipment. Physical Demands – The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employee must regularly talk or hear; frequently stand, walk, lift, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
