Diagnostic Imaging RN

Job Summary:

The Diagnostic Imaging Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing various diagnostic imaging procedures including CT scans, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, X-ray, ultrasound, and interventional radiology. This role requires strong communication skills, critical thinking, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The RN will utilize their medical/surgical and telemetry experience to ensure patient safety and quality care throughout the imaging process. Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic imaging procedures.
• Perform patient assessments and monitor telemetry as required.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures.
• Implement infection prevention measures, including wearing hospital-issued scrubs when necessary.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
• Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate interventions as needed.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in New York State only.
• Minimum of two years of Registered Nursing experience.
• Telemetry experience is required.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in Medical/Surgical nursing.
• Experience working in diagnostic imaging or procedural areas.
• Ability to work flexibly in a high-energy environment.

Special Considerations:

• Must wear hospital-issued and laundered scrub pants and tops in procedural areas as required.
• Adherence to infection prevention protocols is mandatory.
• Occasional weekend shifts may be required.
• Work environment includes exposure to diagnostic imaging equipment and procedures.

Scheduling:

• 40-hour workweek with 8-hour shifts.
• Schedule includes day and evening shifts.
• No holiday or night shifts required.
