Work Environment

This role is onsite at our outpatient office located in Babylon, NY. Our facility is designed to provide an efficient and collaborative work environment equipped with modern treatment modalities, therapy equipment, and support staff. You will work alongside a team of professionals who share your commitment to pediatric care, allowing for a synergistic approach to treatment. Regular working hours will be Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend availability as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough initial assessments of pediatric patients to determine their specific physical therapy needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in conjunction with interdisciplinary teams, focusing on measurable goals and strategies to enhance the child's mobility and functionality.
• Utilize a range of evidence-based therapeutic techniques and modalities tailored to each child's needs, which may include motor skill development exercises, manual therapy, and patient education.
• Provide comprehensive education and support to patients and their families, empowering them to understand the conditions being treated and how to facilitate ongoing care at home.
• Contribute to staff management and professional practice activities, including mentoring junior staff members and aiding in departmental cost management initiatives.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient interactions, ensuring that each family's concerns and hopes are prioritized.
• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation of patient progress, treatment response, and communication with family members as per regulatory guidelines.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on pediatric patients, working with children of various ages who require physical therapy services for developmental delays, orthopedic conditions, or motor impairments. Your expertise will contribute to improving their quality of life, fostering independence, and enabling them to meet their developmental milestones.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required.
• Current and valid physical therapy license in the State of New York is essential.
• Current CPR certification is required at the time of hire.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with effective oral and written communication capabilities.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and a team-oriented demeanor.
• Must display tact and diplomacy when interacting with patients, families, and team members, ensuring a high level of respect and confidentiality is maintained.
• Basic computer knowledge to manage patient records and documentation accurately.

Preferred Experience

• While no prior job-related experience is required, a demonstrated passion for working with children and a commitment to continuous learning in the field of pediatric physical therapy are highly valued.
• Experience in similar outpatient settings or working with children in therapeutic contexts will be a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
