Accounting Manager

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join a growing manufacturing company near Hobby Airport. This individual will step into an immediate need following a recent resignation and will be responsible for leading the accounting function, managing month-end close activities, and overseeing a small accounting team. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader who can quickly assess processes, maintain continuity, and ensure accurate financial reporting in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Lead the accounting team and provide oversight of day-to-day accounting operations

Manage monthly close processes and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting

Review journal entries, reconciliations, and account analyses

Support inventory and cost accounting activities for manufacturing operations

Prepare and maintain management reporting packages using Excel

Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis

Coordinate with accounting and operational stakeholders, including the company's Mexico facility

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency

Ensure continued accounting operations during a period of organizational transition

Skills and Requirements

10+ years of accounting experience with recent Accounting Manager experience

Background supporting a manufacturing organization

Strong experience managing month-end and year-end close processes

Experience overseeing journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activities

Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial reporting

Experience with cost accounting and inventory accounting

Background managing or leading accounting staff

Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting

Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Ability to work onsite five days per week near Hobby Airport CPA designation

Experience supporting operations with facilities in Mexico or international manufacturing operations

Experience implementing process improvements within accounting functions

ERP system experience in a manufacturing environment

Previous experience in a $100M+ revenue organization
