Department Overview

The Surgical Abdominal/ENT & Palliative Care Unit, also known as 4 North, is situated at the Marshfield Clinic in Wisconsin. This unit comprises 25 beds, including 4 designated for Palliative Care. It is responsible for admitting and discharging patients undergoing scheduled diagnostic procedures, tests, and surgeries related to abdominal issues and Ear, Nose, and Throat conditions, as well as managing complex wounds.

Job Summary

We are in search of a caring Nursing Assistant to join our inpatient team. In this role, you will deliver patient-centered nursing care and assist with daily living activities for assigned patients under the guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Your contributions are vital to ensuring the smooth operation of the unit. If you are adaptable, open-minded, and ready to exceed expectations, you will excel as a Nursing Assistant. Responsibilities

• Assist with fundamental healthcare needs such as bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating, while also addressing emotional and spiritual needs.
• Document vital signs, blood glucose levels, and other essential health information.
• Support patient transfers and mobility.
• Perform clerical tasks related to scheduling and documenting patient care.
• Prepare and sanitize patient treatment areas, living spaces, and medical equipment.
• Dispose of biomedical waste in compliance with established standards and policies.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) is preferred but not mandatory.
• Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred. Candidates must obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
• If employed in North Dakota (ND) and not a certified Nursing Assistant, you must be listed on the North Dakota Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry upon completing training/competency validation or within four months of starting employment.
• If working in Wisconsin, you must be registered on the Wisconsin Nurse Aid Registry with current work eligibility.
