Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required License: Valid RN license in hand required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP required Must-Have: Epic experience required IV start experience required Labor and Delivery experience required Previous travel experience preferred Description: Two years of Labor and Delivery experience required. Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, and NRP. Skills required include IV start and Labor and Delivery experience. Epic experience is required for this position. Candidate may be required to float to different units as needed. Orientation hours required are 24. The unit handles a high volume of deliveries, approximately 450 per month. Strong patient assessment and management skills are necessary. Competency in handling high-risk antepartum patients is a plus. Ability to provide breastfeeding support and lactation support is desirable. Familiarity with the administration of medications, including magnesium sulfate and Pitocin, is required. Experience with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections is necessary. Must have the ability to recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns. Skills in triaging obstetrical patients are important. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is essential for quality patient care. Professional references from direct supervisors or managers will be required.
