Motorcycle Mechanics Instructor (Adjunct)

The purpose of an adjunct instructor at Central Carolina Community College is to ensure maximum student learning. The instructor accomplishes this by presenting discipline‑specific learning outcomes through lecture, demonstration, projects, assignments, appropriate classroom management, etc. and by providing authentic student assessment that documents learning has occurred. Please include unofficial copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts. Official copies will be required before the start date. This position may involve occasional travel between campuses and for training. Occasional after‑hours work may be required. The position requires face‑to‑face teaching. Responsibilities Teach assigned number of contact hours per semester. Prepare, maintain, and distribute current course outlines and syllabi that support accreditation standards as described in the current adjunct faculty handbook. Prepare for and meet classes as assigned, promptly evaluate student progress within one week and maintain a safe learning environment. Demonstrate concern for student retention by employing best practice strategies. Assist in maintaining department/curriculum equipment, supplies, and materials, as well as library and support resources as requested by supervisor. Keep supervisor informed of matters pertaining to the curriculum. Assume other duties as requested by the supervisor and the College related to instruction of classes assigned. Follow policies stated in the policies and procedures manual as it relates to instructor responsibilities. Work the required number of hours per week as related to class(es) assigned; post and hold the required office hours (one per class assigned per week). Submit records and forms in a timely fashion as required in the policy and procedures manual. Obtain Blackboard I training from Center for Teaching and Learning as well as maintain a Bb course site for each course taught during the semester. Encourage and support College activities, policies, procedures, and philosophies. Qualifications Certificate in motorcycle mechanics with work‑related experience or certified motorcycle industry training with work‑related experience, or a transportation‑related degree with significant motorcycle industry training and experience.
