About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in high acuity & high pace environment, highly preferred 5 years of high-risk experience. License: Current compact license required. Certifications: Required - BLS, NRP. Preferred - ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate. Must-Have: Current supervisory references. Proof of required certifications with submission. Must pass clinical review. Experience with high-risk and fast-paced environments. Ability to circulate for procedures and provide newborn care, including assessments and injections. Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery. Position requires a candidate with extensive experience in a high-risk environment. The ideal candidate will function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery. Care of the newborn will continue until transfer to postpartum. Candidates must circulate and provide necessary newborn care. Responsibilities include assessment and administration of vitamin K and other newborn procedures. Staffing follows specific guidelines for high-risk, high-volume labor and delivery. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Pre-approved time off will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Candidates will float to postpartum or antepartum as required. Patient demographics include midwifery clients and adult recovery services. Experience with electronic fetal monitoring is necessary. Daily average census is approximately 15 patients with a delivery rate of 500-600 deliveries per month. Four operating rooms are available for procedures. Work will require weekend shifts and holiday coverage as necessary. Position requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Candidates should be familiar with relevant skills and procedures pertinent to labor and delivery.
