Travel Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) – Spokane, Washington

Seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel nursing assignment in Spokane, WA. Join a high-acuity emergency department caring for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in a regional referral setting with approximately 175 daily visits, including complex trauma, cardiac, and stroke cases.

Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,050–$2,160
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 30, 2026
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 12-hour rotating shifts
• Shift Options: Day shift, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.; night shift, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Emergency Department Setting: On-site emergency department with approximately 50 beds and 50 treatment rooms
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1 RN to 4 patients
• Weekend Requirement: Typically every other weekend
• Call: Not required
• Additional Assignment Details: May include coverage in ED holding and occasional floating to nearby sister facilities based on operational needs

Emergency Department RN Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent emergency department nursing experience
• Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Washington; compact license must be active and in hand at submission when applicable
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications
• Experience caring for high-acuity emergency patients, including trauma, cardiac, and stroke presentations
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Epic electronic medical record charting experience preferred
• Ability to work rotating day and night shifts, weekends, and required assignment holidays
• Two professional references covering at least one year of relevant experience within the last three years

Travel Emergency Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric emergency patients
• Perform rapid assessment, triage, prioritization, reassessment, and ongoing monitoring in a high-volume emergency department
• Care for patients experiencing cardiac emergencies, strokes, traumatic injuries, and other high-acuity conditions
• Support STEMI care and transfers to the cardiac catheterization laboratory, stroke care and transfers for interventional treatment, and trauma progression to the operating room or intensive care unit
• Demonstrate competency with continuous IV sedation, intracranial pressure monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency stabilization
• Use emergency equipment, including rapid infusers, defibrillators, and advanced patient monitoring systems
• Collaborate with respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, laboratory, social services, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Provide care in ED holding when assigned and maintain flexibility to support nearby affiliated units as needed
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record
