Facilities Maintenance Specialist

Facilities Maintenance Specialist – Parks & Recreation Department Responsibilities: Performing a variety of skilled, semi-skilled, and manual labor tasks related to the maintenance and repair of town facilities. Performing landscaping and horticultural tasks, including mowing grass, marking ball fields, and splash pad operations. Operating equipment such as machinery and garden tools. Managing special event set up and cleanup. Performing unskilled to semi-skilled trade repairs. Working under regular supervision and meeting project updates, direct observation, citizen comments, and quality/quantity metrics. Desirable Candidate Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and valid NC Driver’s License. Experience in building and grounds maintenance, landscaping, horticulture, trades helper, or maintenance. Must be able to obtain a Pesticide Applicator’s License and Playground Maintenance Certificate within the timeframe set by the Town. Availability for nights, weekends, and variable schedules.
