MATERIALS AND STORES SUPERVISOR I - FACILITY E CLOTHING

Job Description and Duties

Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment will be considered for this position(s).

Under the direction of the Materials and Stores Supervisor II, CF the Materials and Stores Supervisor I, CF is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing and shipping of a large variety of clothing. Orders and inventories materials and supplies. Processes orders. Maintains accurate records on issuance, ordering and inventory. Maintains accurate records on incarcerated individuals’ time. Operates all equipment assigned to Clothing. May perform other related duties from one to five different clothing rooms. Maintains order and supervises the conduct of incarcerated individuals assigned to the Clothing Rooms. Supervises, trains and instructs incarcerated individuals in their work. Submits periodic written appraisals of incarcerated individuals conduct and productivity. Prevents escapes and injury to themselves or to property. Maintains security, inspects premises, searches incarcerated individuals for contraband such as weapons and illegal drugs.

Working Conditions

High Desert State Prison is located approximately eight miles east of the town of Susanville, or about a 1 hour 30-minute drive northwest of Reno, Nevada.

Candidates new to CDCR/CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, as well as a Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment, followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
