Location: Columbia, MD (100% In-Office)
Compensation: Up to $200,000 Base Salary (based on experience)


A growing organization is seeking a Director of Finance to lead accounting and finance operations and serve as a key member of the leadership team. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys partnering with executives, developing staff, improving processes, and helping drive business growth.


The right candidate will bring strong accounting and financial leadership experience, a collaborative management style, and the desire to grow with the organization.
Responsibilities

• Lead all day-to-day accounting and finance functions.
• Manage the monthly close process and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range financial plans.
• Partner with operational leaders to provide financial analysis and support strategic decision-making.
• Oversee revenue recognition, contract billing, project reporting, and cash flow management.
• Prepare and present financial information to executive leadership.
• Coordinate annual audits and support compliance initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop members of the accounting and finance team.
• Drive process improvements and help build scalable financial infrastructure.
• Support business growth initiatives, proposal pricing, and strategic planning efforts.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA or Master's degree required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Prior experience leading and developing teams.
• Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
• Experience working in a complex business environment with multiple stakeholders.
• Government contracting experience is preferred but not required.
• Deltek Costpoint experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong Excel and ERP system experience.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both executive leadership and operational teams.
