2nd Shift Production Supervisor

Description


We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead 2nd shift operations within a high-volume food manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for overseeing approximately 25+ production employees while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. The Production Supervisor will lead from the floor, developing employees, addressing operational challenges, and partnering with Maintenance, Quality, Safety, Planning, and Supply Chain to keep production running effectively. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on manufacturing leader who enjoys developing people, solving problems, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop production employees while maintaining accountability for performance
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company safety policies
• Ensure production activities meet food safety, GMP, quality, and company standards
• Monitor production performance, staffing, efficiency, waste, and downtime
• Identify and address production issues quickly to minimize disruptions
• Investigate safety, quality, and production issues using root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Partner closely with Maintenance to address equipment issues and minimize downtime
• Work cross-functionally with Quality, Maintenance, Planning, Supply Chain, Sales, and Safety teams
• Maintain appropriate staffing, training, resources, procedures, and production documentation
• Monitor employee performance and provide coaching, feedback, and development
• Support hiring, onboarding, training, and employee development initiatives
• Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost
• Help ensure production schedules are met safely and efficiently
• Maintain a strong presence on the production floor and provide leadership support throughout the shift

Must-Have Skills, Experience, & Education:

• Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing production teams
  
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Experience working cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Safety teams
  
• Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business software
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced production environment

Nice-To-Have Skills, Experience, & Education:

• Minimum 3-5 years of manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  
• Food, beverage, bakery, or consumer packaged goods manufacturing experience preferred
  
• Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, OSHA regulations, and food safety programs preferred
• Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience preferred
  

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• High-volume food manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, industrial noise, and production equipment
• Frequent presence on the production floor throughout the shift
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to bend, reach, climb stairs or ladders, and navigate a manufacturing environment
• Ability to work around varying temperatures typical of food production environments
• Ability to work occasional weekends or extended hours based on business needs
