This role will play a critical part in ensuring financial integrity, supporting regulatory requirements, and delivering insights to inform business and leadership decisions. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting knowledge with the ability to analyze and communicate complex financial information.Responsibilities Include:Prepare and deliver financial analyses and executive-level presentations related to accounting results, audit outcomes, and regulatory activitiesSupport internal and external audit processes, including coordination of requests, documentation, and issue resolutionAssist in regulatory reporting and filings, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable standards (e.g., FERC, state regulatory bodies)Analyze financial data, trends, and performance metrics to identify risks, variances, and opportunitiesSupport maintenance and enhancement of internal controls and compliance processes (including SOX, where applicable)Partner with accounting, regulatory, compliance, and operational teams to drive alignment and execution of key initiativesIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency, transparency, and control effectivenessQualifications Include:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required, Advanced degree preferredMinimum 10 years professional work experience required, energy industry experience a plusGeneral knowledge of financial statement analysisProficient with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and WordDemonstrate a questioning attitude to learn, produce results, and strengthen existing relationshipsDesire to continue to learn, grow and work across FirstEnergy and deliver resultsExcellent analytical abilitiesDeliver quality, accurate work within established deadlinesExcellent written and oral communication skillsExcellent time management skillsProficiency with SAP preferredBenefits, Compensation & Workforce DiversityAt FirstEnergy, employees are key to our success.
