Ultrasonographer Job Responsibilities: Move transducer, by hand, over specified area of body and observe sound wave display on screen to monitor quality of ultrasonic pattern produced. Perform abdominal, pelvic, OB-GYN, transvaginal and small parts sonography. Photograph information necessary for interpretation. Set, adjust, manipulate, control and maintain a variety of complex electronic equipment to apply non-ionizing, high frequency ultrasonic waves to patients for diagnosis of disease. Explain procedure to the patient. Instruct and assist patient in assuming physical position for exam. Discuss test findings with the radiologist. Key test data and patient information into computer of U/S equipment to maintain record of test results. Ultrasonographer Education & Experience Requirements: Education Attended an accredited school for Diagnostic Ultrasound or have equivalent experience. Employee must have ARDMS Certification (including Physics and an additional anatomic specific registry). Must maintain ARDMS certification. Must obtain RVT credential within 1 year. CPR – Current AHA Healthcare Provider Certification / equivalent within 3 months of hire is required. Experience 1-2 years working in an Ultrasound environment required. Experience and registration in abdominal, pelvic, OB-GYN, vascular, and small parts sonography preferred. Required learn to perform additional sonography protocols under the direction of the Senior Ultrasonographers and Lead Ultrasonographer. Proficient in these categories within 9 months of the beginning of training is required. Ultrasonographer Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: High degree of technical aptitude with an in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Knowledge of computer keyboard, programs and menus.
