Strategic Sourcing & Contracting Specialist - Battery Energy Storage

About the role:

Denver, CO

We are looking for a Strategic Sourcing & Contracting Specialist to support critical projects within the growing battery energy storage space. You will play an important part in leading sourcing strategy and contract execution for complex, energy projects. You will report to the Director of Strategic Sourcing and partners with category managers, sourcing leads, and team members to support battery energy storage projects.

You will manage contract negotiations and leading strategic sourcing events across a variety of agreements, including master service agreements and project-specific contracts. You will offer the opportunity to directly influence supplier strategy and help develop next-generation energy infrastructure.

This is a hybrid position based in Denver, CO (onsite Tuesday–Thursday, remote Monday & Friday).

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end sourcing events (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs), from planning through evaluation and final contract award
• Guide contract negotiations for multiple agreements, ensuring favorable commercial terms and understanding of our goals
• Manage multiple contracts simultaneously at different stages, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and execution
• Collaborate with team members to develop sourcing strategies
• Evaluate supplier proposals, pricing structures, and commercial terms to recommend sourcing decisions
• Ensure adherence to structured sourcing methodologies (e.g., seven-step sourcing process)
• Support supplier selection, onboarding, and ongoing vendor relationship management
• Prepare reporting and updates for team members and leadership on sourcing activities and outcomes
• Maintain detailed documentation across all sourcing and contracting activities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required
• 5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or category management
• Strong experience in contract negotiation and contract management
• Proven experience leading RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs end-to-end
• Familiarity with structured sourcing methodologies (e.g., seven-step sourcing)
• Experience procuring both equipment and services

We are committed to transparency and equity in all our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $77.00/hour to $82.00/hour.
