Work Environment

This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, working a total of 40 hours per week, typically concluding at 5:00 PM. The environment within our surgical center is fast-paced yet supportive, allowing you to work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. We emphasize collaboration and communication to provide optimal care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and review patients' medical histories to assess their health and wellness.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood tests and X-rays to facilitate accurate diagnosis.
• Diagnose a variety of health conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans based on clinical guidelines.
• Prescribe medications and propose treatments for chronic and infectious diseases, ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Maintain organized and accurate patient records and schedules, utilizing electronic health record systems for documentation.
• Educate patients on their health conditions, treatment options, and the importance of following prescribed health regimens.
• Support disease prevention and healthy lifestyle practices among patients, empowering them to take charge of their health.
• Participate in continuous professional development including research, trainings, and workshops to enhance clinical expertise.
• Actively collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to ensure comprehensive patient care and address any complex health issues.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clinic primarily serves a diverse patient population, ranging from young families to seniors. You will be tasked with understanding and addressing the unique health needs of each individual, which may include chronic disease management, preventive health education, and acute care interventions. Familiarity with various diseases and their management is crucial for successfully addressing the complex health needs of our patients.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Current California State Physician Assistant license and certification (PA-C).
• A valid DEA number is required for prescribing medications.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physician Assistant in a clinical or hospital setting.
• Proven expertise in primary care, and familiarity with acute care conditions, chronic care management, and urgent care practices.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical concepts to patients and their families.
• Strong ethical principles and a collaborative spirit are essential for success in this role.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in specialties such as internal medicine, cardiology, family health, or urgent care will be considered an asset.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, though it is not a prerequisite.

Compensation and Benefits

Providence Health Clinic offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 140,000 to 180,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
