Visual Designer

Vital Design, located in downtown Portsmouth, New Hampshire, is growing — and we’re looking for a Visual Designer. We are seeking a talented Visual Designer with 1-2 years of web experience to join our creative team. As a Visual Designer, you will collaborate closely with our clients and internal teams to conceptualize and execute visually stunning designs that effectively communicate brand messages and objectives. From website layouts to digital ads, your creative expertise will play a pivotal role in shaping impactful digital marketing campaigns. Responsibilities Design Development: Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and develop visually captivating design concepts for websites, digital ads, social media assets, and other digital marketing collateral. User-Centric Design: Apply user-centered design principles to create intuitive and engaging user interfaces that enhance user experience and drive conversions. Wire-framing and Prototyping: Develop intuitive, high-fidelity product prototypes for stakeholder buy in using an assortment of design tools. Brand Consistency: Ensure brand consistency across all design assets by adhering to brand guidelines and effectively communicating brand identity through visual elements. Creative Ideation: Contribute to brainstorming sessions and provide innovative design ideas and solutions that align with client objectives and project goals. Responsive Design: Create responsive designs that adapt seamlessly across various devices and screen sizes, prioritizing functionality and aesthetic appeal. Industry Trends: Stay informed about emerging design trends, technologies, and best practices in digital marketing and incorporate them into design strategies to maintain competitive advantage. About the ideal candidate Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field. 1-2 years of professional experience in visual design, preferably in a digital marketing agency or related industry. Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design tools. Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of web design projects and digital marketing collateral. Solid understanding of user experience (UX) design principles and best practices. Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate design concepts and ideas effectively. Detail-oriented with a keen eye for typography, color, and layout. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and web design frameworks is a plus.
