Emergency Services LICSW-Clinician

SUMMARY Under the general supervision of the Clinical Director/Unit Chief, provide comprehensive clinical services as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, including evaluation, treatment, and therapeutic interventions for patients with psychiatric and physical/environmental stressors. Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy and report to the Clinical Director of Social Work and Counseling on professional standards, regulatory and licensing requirements, credentials/privileges, and continuing education. RESPONSIBILITIES Provide emergency triage, evaluation, brief treatment, and clinical referrals to children, adolescents, and families through the Pediatric Behavioral Health Emergency Services (LPBHES) Department, a partnership between Bradley Hospital, Rhode Island Hospital, and Gateway Healthcare. Conduct urgent and emergency triage (by phone, virtually, or in‑person) and perform clinical assessments across Brown University Health emergency service sites, including Bradley Access, Hasbro Emergency Department, and Gateway community sites. Manage the disposition of cases seen through the Kids’Link emergency service and consult with Gateway intake and Bradley patient registration staff regarding patient scheduling for community evaluations. Collaborate with other members of the Brown University Health PBHES team and manage crisis intervention for patients and families awaiting inpatient admissions or candidates for intensive outpatient care as an alternative to hospitalization. Complete required documentation in a timely and professional manner. Provide psychoeducation to patients and guardians regarding diagnosis, treatment interventions, and recommendations. Coordinate and collaborate in care with the multidisciplinary team and community supports (schools, therapists, physicians) for assessment, communication, and after‑care planning. Participate in service‑related meetings, including team meetings, rounds, clinical conferences, community meetings, staff meetings, and in‑service sessions. May participate in research or other specialized activities as arranged with supervisor. Attend Social Work and Counseling Department staff meetings and meet all related responsibilities. Demonstrate conduct that exemplifies the professional Code of Ethics and attend supervision as required. May provide supervision of social work or counseling students, including reliable, high‑quality supervision, teaching, and maintenance of active faculty status when appropriate. QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in any human services field from an accredited graduate school (e.g., social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology). Current independent license from the State of Rhode Island (LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT). Demonstrated knowledge and skills to provide care across the lifespan, considering aging processes, human development stages, and cultural patterns at each step of the care process. Significant experience and/or training working with children, adolescents, and families. Pay Range: $67,724.80 – $111,716.80 Location: Bradley Hospital – 1011 Veterans Memorial Pkwy, East Providence, Rhode Island 02915 Work Details: Mon‑Fri days with one evening shift until 11PM; day shift; 8‑hour daily schedule; no driving required.
