Mobile Crisis Clinician-Children's

Summary: Provides initial evaluations, crisis intervention, and symptom stabilization, emergency evaluations, care coordination, consultation and education to consumers of all ages presenting with behavioral health needs. Services will be coordinated with family and other professionals and may be performed in a clinic location, at identified community sites in the region, and in homes. Employees also demonstrate the core Success Factors that guide how we work together and get things done. Responsibilities Provides screening evaluation by telephone and face-to-face. Conducts biopsychosocial assessments in agency facilities, community locations, and homes, assessing risk of self‑harm or harm to others. Completes crisis assessments per timeline, consults with family, police, physicians, and treatment providers. Recommends disposition and stabilization plan and offers least restrictive treatment options. Facilitates involuntary/voluntary hospitalizations and provides emergency case management until consumers are no longer in crisis. Coordinates referrals and offers assistance to consumers who do not meet criteria of Gateway Healthcare, Inc. treatment programs. Schedules and participates in psychiatric/medication evaluations with psychiatrist as needed. Maintains current knowledge of all agency programs and accesses them effectively. Acts as liaison between ER staff and referrals, ensuring crisis contacts are communicated to primary clinicians and physicians. Participates in treatment planning meetings and difficult case conferences when necessary. Adheres to documentation standards per Gateway Healthcare, Inc. policy, licensing standards, and regulations. Obtains past records to substantiate diagnoses and coordinate insurance verification and paperwork. Ensures reliability and availability via pager/phone during duty hours. Responds to National Suicide Prevention Lifeline calls, assessing risk and coordinating referrals or emergency services. Provides consultations/evaluations to staff in other departments or community partners and assists with coverage at other ES locations. Participates in GHI Community Disaster Team response as required. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in counseling (MA), MSW, MFT; LCSW, LMHC‑A, LMFT‑A or LICSW preferred. Eligible for “Qualified Mental Health Professional” status. Eligibility for child & family competency. At least 2 years’ experience in a behavioral health setting. Basic Life Support certification. Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage. Strong oral and written communication skills. Flexible work schedule for some evening and weekend coverage.
