Position Summary:

The Outreach and Enrollment Associate is responsible for supporting consumers with the Managed Care Consumer Assistance Program (MCCAP). The Outreach & Enrollment Specialist will assist individuals and families in navigating the healthcare system by providing direct support with health insurance enrollment, coverage navigation, access-to-care guidance, social support referrals and post enrollment needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. 
• Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
• 1-2 years of previous experience with administrative support in healthcare. 
• General understanding of Affordable Care Act.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Experience with data entry.
• Team player and someone who is responsible and professional is necessary. 

Key Duties:

• Assist individuals and families to apply for health insurance enrollment and post enrollment assistance
• Conduct outreach events and presentations in the community to promote MCCAP services
• Assist individuals with enrollment through NYSOH, Access NY, and Medicare
• Educate consumers about their insurance rights and responsibilities and explain plan documents
• Assist consumers address social support and other healthcare needs
• Collects and enter all MCCAP client and outreach data 
• Facilitate in-person presentations to educate consumers on health insurance enrollment & post enrollment services.
• Follow up with clients to ensure connection to services.

Compensation: $20.67/hour for 40 hours per week

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:

Applicants must be comfortable working onsite, based out of the Bronx and have availability to commit to a schedule of 40 hours per week, working Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm with occasional Saturdays as needed for special outreach events. The position is stationed in the Bronx Health Information Place, but incumbents must be comfortable with visiting other Urban Health Plan locations as needed.
