Maintenance Technician FT-1ST SHIFT Technical Duncan, SC, US 2 days ago Requisition ID: 1204 Salary Range: $24.00 To $37.00 Hourly Position Summary This position is responsible for the maintenance care and calibrationfor the facilities and equipment both inside and outside the facility. Maintenance Technician Level 1: Essential Functions: Working according to Company's Quality and Safety policies. Working in the Company's Quality and Safety System context, in accordance with its procedures and requirements. Successful and accurate completion of preventive maintenance activities on production and facility equipment. Must have the ability to complete repairs to equipment with minimal supervision, especially while working on the off-shifts. Ensure equipment processes are performing effectively and efficiently, ensuring quality of products and on-time delivery. Promotes equipment standardization. Provides technical support throughout the plant for all maintenance types as Corrective, Preventive, Planned Maintenance Overhaul and Predictive. Performs/executes maintenance activities on a daily basis, following schedule, through CMMS work orders, storing related records. Participates in roll out of TPM programs. Assure reporting spare parts when using. Suports maintaining spare and consumable parts inventory accuracy. Analyze data, records, and equipment histories to continually review and refine PM frequencies. Analyze and support plans for installation of new processes, equipment, consumables and spare parts. Maintain accurate maintenance records to understand the total cost of ownership, machine trends, and machine uptime as related to Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Ensure all work orders and maintenance log items are closed when work is finished. Ensure proper documentation is included. Actively take part in promoting continuous improvement of productivity and efficiency with regard to maintenance items, machinery, and labor, suggesting changes and implementing improvements in order to streamline the system to increase OEE and reduce cost. Help in the analysis, interpretation, and improvement of key Maintenance metrics. Understand machine trends, and machine uptime as related to Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Ensure work orders are closed when work is finished. Ensure proper documentation is included. Work with Engineering Group to develop and implement engineering solutions to reduce or eliminate repetitive equipment failures and other maintenance problems. Level 1 Skills Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical/pneumatic schematics and plant layouts required. Ability to read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics Capability to perform general mechanical repairs Basic understanding of HVAC/Air Compressors/Dust Collectors/Building Systems Basic understanding of electricity, electronics, DC circuits, transformers and AC circuits Working knowledge of multimeter to measure voltage, current and resistance Basic understanding of AC and DC equipment and controls Three phase systems Electrical & Mechanical troubleshooting Working knowledge of corrective, predictive and preventative maintenance Ability to use Microsoft Office products Working knowledge of CMMS and TPM Understand of single-phase motors and three phase systems. Capability to perform mechanical repairs. Must have computer skills and specific experience with CMMS system and Office software. Working knowledge with TPM. Maintenance Technician Level 2: Essential Functions (in addition to those required for Level 1): Capable to complete scheduled maintenance and repairs to equipment with minimal supervision. Works close to EHS assuring company’s safety compliances are met and on maintaining a safe work environment. Supports EHS monthly tasks and LPA audits. Assists with annual backflow prevention device, alarm system, fire suppression system, elevator, and other inspections. Thoroughly troubleshoot equipment problems or failures, properly determine appropriate actions for repair, specify parts and materials needed for repair, and order parts as required. Creates planning, and documentation, for major maintenance overhauls and shutdowns. Assures all assets and devices that are required for calibration by Maintenance are properly maintained within the calibration and shelf life date range. Assuring device availability for usage when calibration on equipment required. Handles with external suppliers the calibration of expired devices, quoting, shipment of controlled devices, etc. Assures no expired devices, scheduling calibration prior to due date. Devices such as Thermo couples, Power supplies, data collectors, safety sensors cartridges, etc. Conducting equipment risk-based failure mode analysis. Performs failure finding tasks on safety sensors, gas shut off systems and other safety devices according to schedule. Actively reviewing and updating PM plans in CMMS systems. Analyzes data, records, and equipment histories to continually review and refine PM frequencies and spare part usage. Level 2 Skills Advanced CMMS capabilities including PM management PM work instruction creation and modification Machine installation – electrical, pneumatic, rigging and etc. SAP purchase requisitions and spare part inventory management Heat treat thermocouple management Basic fabrication and welding Robot maintenance Understanding of / Troubleshooting & repair of process gas vacuum systems (Hydrogen, Argon, Helium, Silane). Investigate and analyze process gas vacuum system malfunctions, including pressure fluctuations, leaks, and performance deviations Experienced/knowledge in at least one or more of the following: calibration/bump test and spam adjustment of safety gas sensors, heat treat furnace thermal surveys, calibration/management of thermocouples, calibration assets and components management. Experienced with tanks, vacuum, electronics, welding, heating furnaces, precision measuring instruments. Maintenance Technician Level 3: Essential Functions (in addition to those required for Level 1 and 2): Cooperates with Stakeholders providing technical support to maintenance, engineering and production personnel. Focusing on reducing plant equipment downtime as assuring project deadlines are kept on-time. Performs equipment failure troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Prepares failure reports and develops plans to eliminate root causes and avoid re-incidence of future failures. Carry out actions to other equipment when applicable. Developing company standards for equipment (electrical, thermocouples, sensors). Developing process for calibration of thermo couples, bringing process in house. Analyze and support plans for facilities installation of new processes and new equipment, along with consumables and spare parts lists. Supports planning preparation for project timelines with production, engineering, and vendors to minimize downtime for repairs and upgrades. Work with Engineering Group to develop and implement engineering solutions to reduce or eliminate repetitive equipment failures and other maintenance problems. Create scopes of work, cost estimates, and timelines for small to medium capital projects. Manages projects from conception through completion. Review, and maintain equipment documentation up to date. Support training for other maintenance technicians. Performs other duties as assigned Level 3 Skills Advanced understanding of PLC, electrical, electronic, pneumatic troubleshooting Advanced understanding of process controls Advanced understanding of sensors and pressure, temperature, force, weight, motion, flow and level measurement systems Understanding of analytical instrumentation Understanding of power supplies Understanding of semi-conductors and digital systems Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and schematics. Experience with process equipment control and instrumentation as measurement devices of flow, mass, gas, temperature, etc. Experience with Chemical process equipment is a plus. Candidate must be experienced with PLC troubleshooting: Siemens, Allen-Bradley. Electrical & Mechanical troubleshooting. Desired knowledge with Robots: ABB or Fanuc. Deep understanding of electricity, electronics, DC circuits, transformers, and AC circuits. Supervisory Responsibility None This job operates in a manufacturing environment. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday 7am to 3:30 pm, with additional hours as business needs necessitate. Subject to change shifts as business grows. Travel Limited to no travel. Education Associates degree in Mechatronics, MET, EET or similar coursework required. Required on the job work experience as follows: Maintenance Technician Level 1: 3 years experience and basic understanding of mechanical devices (pumps, motors, gearbox, power transmission), pneumatics, hydraulic lift & press systems, and control devices (sensors, light curtains, scanners). Maintenance Technician Level 2: 5 – 7 year. In addition to MTL 1, understanding of HMI interface and set-up, calibration & thermal uniformity survey procedures for various drives, furnaces, gas and power sensors. Understanding and ability to determine and modify device parameters of various drive and control systems. Maintenance Technician Level 3: 8+ years. In addition to MTL 1 & 2, understanding of HMI interface and set-up, calibration & thermal uniformity survey procedures for various drives, furnaces, gas and power sensors. Advanced understanding and ability to determine and modify device parameters of various drive and control systems. Specifically, ABB, Fanuc or equivalent robot systems as well as Allen Bradley and Siemens S6 & 7. Knowledge of CMMS, PLC, vacuum, electronics, welding, precision measuring instruments and ability to understand blueprints required. Problem solving Communication Teamwork Results orientation Strong background in root cause failure analysis, maintenance planning, and condition-based monitoring. Candidate should be willing to work hands-on in a regular or frequent basis, learning on the job and building partners within other department teams. Experienced with Thermal Spray processes is a plus. Candidate must have strong sense of initiative, teamwork, and be results-oriented. Able to teach and coach others.
