Location:

Belleville, Illinois - on-site, Monday through Friday.

Note:

Must have 5+ years of directly relevant litigation legal support experience. Candidates should be highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable supporting attorneys in active litigation matters, and experienced with the demands of a busy legal practice.

Job Description

• Provide comprehensive legal and administrative support to attorneys handling litigation matters.
• Prepare, format, proofread, and organize pleadings, motions, correspondence, discovery, and other legal documents.
• Assist with filing and maintaining court documents, deadlines, calendars, and case records.
• Coordinate hearings, depositions, meetings, and other litigation-related activities.
• Organize case files, exhibits, correspondence, discovery materials, and attorney work product.
• Assist attorneys with discovery preparation, document organization, and case-management activities.
• Track deadlines and proactively communicate upcoming dates and required actions.
• Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, vendors, and other legal professionals.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records while managing multiple priorities efficiently.
• Provide day-to-day support that keeps litigation matters organized and moving forward.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of litigation legal support experience required.
• Strong understanding of litigation procedures, filings, deadlines, and case organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong proofreading and document-formatting abilities.
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and work independently.
• Professional judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.
• Proficiency with standard legal office technology and document-management systems.
