Structural Project Engineer

Structural Project EngineerBETA Group, Inc is looking to bring on a Structural Project Engineer to join our growing team. This role will help to expand the structural team. The candidate will have the opportunity to lead bridge and culvert projects for MassDOT, RIDOT, and other state agencies. In addition, they will design structures for municipalities, oversee the preparation of contract plans and documents, and mentor junior staff. The projects BETA works on offer a wide variety of opportunities to broaden your skillset and gain valuable experience.Responsibilities:Contribute to the preparation of bridge and structural design documents, including design calculations, AutoCAD plans, specifications, and quantitiesProvides technical engineering expertise to project manager and/or client to ensure the project complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructionsPlans, schedules, conducts, and/or coordinates detailed phases of assigned project workAnalyze new and existing concrete gravity dams, arch dams, buttress dams, spillways, powerhouses, intake towers, penstocks, dam gates, and similar structures for stresses, stability, and performance under extreme loadsDevelop and evaluate alternatives for new facilities and upgrades to existing projectsComplete detailed design calculations and prepare contract documents and technical specificationsPrepare formal written reports, give presentations, and participate in internal and client meetingsCoordinates plans, schedules, and detailed phases (scopes of work, budgets, and milestones) of assigned project workEngage junior staff by piloting structural inspections with field crewsCollaborate across internal disciplines and office locationsPreferred location is BETA's Lincoln, RI office. Candidates should have flexibility to work from our other office locations.
