Job Summary The paraprofessional works under the direct supervision of a certified CTE teacher to support daily instruction, maintain a safe working environment, and guide students through hands‑on building projects. Entry‑level problem‑solving skills are a must, with strong technical aptitude. The right candidates must be student‑focused and foster a positive student‑learning environment. Key Responsibilities Instructional Support: Reinforce lessons in carpentry, blueprint reading, tool operation, and construction safety and regulations while using equipment. Shop & Site Supervision: Monitor students during hands‑on building activities to enforce strict safety protocols and proper equipment use. Student Assistance: Help individual students or small groups understand technical tasks, project steps, and behavioral expectations. Assist students with reading and comprehension. Project Maintenance: Assist with organizing materials, maintaining tools and equipment, and preparing work areas for daily projects. Administrative Support: Track student participation, maintain a clean and orderly learning environment, and communicate safety or attendance concerns to the lead teacher. Qualifications Sixty credit hours or a bachelor's degree. Interest in construction trades preferred.
