The Bus Aide provides safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum during the school year.Duties and Responsibilities:Supervises students getting on and off the bus to ensure their safety.Daily cleans the interior of the bus and washes windows as needed.Supervises the students while riding the bus to ensure their safety.While riding the bus, all of the aide's attention should be directed towards keeping students in their seats and when required buckled using the provided safety harnesses/belts.Is aware of the requirements of transporting wheelchair-bound students if necessary.Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.Keeps assigned bus clean.Discharges students only at authorized stops and transports only authorized students.Assists the bus driver when needed.Back up Special Needs van driver if needed.Experience:Prior aide experiences a plusAbility to speak and communicate with bus driver and studentsList Specific Skills And/Or Abilities Required:Requires a valid State Driver's license.Working knowledge: Sufficient familiarity with the subject to know basic principles and terminology and to understand and solve simple problems.Working Conditions:These are the physical and mental/reasoning requirements of the position as it is typically performed.
