We are a close-knit group that takes pride in working closely with our clients to address issues affecting their communities.About the RoleCivica Law Group is looking for a Paralegal on our Civil Litigation side to join our team.This role will work our Civil Litigation team, supporting public-agency clients. The position offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys and gain exposure to a variety of issues involving public safety, code enforcement, and local government.What You'll DoWork closely with litigation attorneys to manage and support assigned casesCalendar and monitor case deadlines, hearings, filings, and other important datesAssist with preparing pleadings, discovery, motions, and other legal documentsOrganize and summarize case documents, discovery, and relevant recordsConduct legal and factual research and assist attorneys with case preparationCommunicate with courts, opposing counsel, clients, vendors, and other parties as neededCoordinate with court reporters, experts, and other outside professionals when neededMaintain accurate and organized case files and track case activityWhat We're Looking For3+ years of civil litigation and tort defense experience Candidate must have their paralegal certificate or degree in applicable paralegal studies Strong ability to handle multiple tasks and roles at a given timeExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailSomeone who is adaptable and possesses solid organizational, writing, and analytical skillsStrong communication skills and sound judgmentInterest in local government, public safety, or code enforcementWhy Join Civica?Meaningful and Interesting Work Work on legal issues that directly impact communities, including public safety, code enforcement and quality-of-life matters Experienced Team Work alongside attorneys and paralegals with decades of experience representing public agencies and learn from their experience.Hybrid Schedule Work from home on Wednesdays and Fridays, with additional flexibility through our PTO policy for eligible exempt employees.
