LOADER / WAREHOUSE PERSON

Pennsylvania Steel has been in business since 1972 and has multiple locations on the east coast becoming one of the largest Steel Service Centers in the eastern United States. The Naugatuck, CT branch is looking for a 3rd shift Loader / Warehouse Person. This is a full time, permanent opportunity. Responsibilities Executes customer work orders and prepares the product for shipment. Pull customer orders, inspects the order, and loads the truck for delivery. Operates overhead cranes to load/unload trucks. Operates forklifts (5k or 10k) to load/unload trucks. Transports material from storage and/or worksites to designated areas using either an overhead crane or forklift. Secures lifting attachments to materials and transports to the load destination using a crane or hoist. Requirements High School Graduate or Equivalent. Basic mathematics skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions. Basic reading and writing comprehension in English. Proficient measuring skills and the ability to read measuring tapes, micrometers and calipers. Forklift/Overhead Crane experience a plus; willing to train.
