Accounts Payable & Accounting Clerk

Role Description

Symbios is a small, growing medical practice seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable & Accounting Clerk to join our team on a part-time, fully remote basis. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this position supports the day-to-day financial operations of the practice, including:

• Invoice processing
• Vendor management
• Bank reconciliations
• General ledger maintenance

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly organized, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare or medical office setting
• Proficiency in BILL (Bill.com) for invoice management, workflow routing, and approvals
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) — certification is a plus
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Experience with Excel functions including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data formatting
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles (debits, credits, accruals)
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting
• Strong time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines independently
• Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated, distraction-free home workspace

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Experience working in a small business or medical/healthcare environment
• Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and healthcare financial practices
• QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor Certification

Work Environment & Schedule

This is a part-time, fully remote position, estimated at 15 hours per week. The successful candidate must be available during standard business hours (Monday–Friday) for coordination with the CFO and other team members. Occasional video calls or virtual meetings will be required. The position does not require travel.
