Accounts Payable Specialist

Our client, a financial services company based in Center City Philadelphia, is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to support their finance team on a temporary basis. This role involves processing high volumes of vendor invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely and accurate payments in a fast-paced corporate environment.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with accounts payable processes and is comfortable working within an established ERP system. This assignment offers the opportunity to gain experience within a well-regarded financial services organization while contributing to month-end close activities and vendor relationship management.

This is a full-time temporary assignment with the possibility of extension based on business needs and performance. The role reports directly to the Accounts Payable Manager and works closely with procurement and general accounting teams.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices for accuracy and proper approval
• Match purchase orders, receiving reports, and invoices
• Prepare and process weekly check runs and ACH payments
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment discrepancies
• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status
• Maintain accurate records in the accounts payable system
• Assist with month-end close and accrual reporting
• Support internal and external audit requests as needed

Requirements

• 2 or more years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and formulas
• Experience with ERP or accounting software such as SAP or Oracle
• Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Associate degree or coursework in accounting or finance preferred
• Ability to work on-site in Philadelphia for the duration of the assignment
